My grandfather, Bertie Livett, was the manager here for H H Finch in 1936. He moved on to manage another of Finch's houses but I think it was at the war's end. Can't remember the name but do remember pulling pints there in either 1948 or 49!
His son Douglas Livett managed The Black Horse on Marylebone High Street for quite a few years until at least 1960. Earliest knowledge of my grandfathers activities is the he worked at the Arsenal making munitions in WW1, ran a Pub/Hotel at Hearne Bay and ran the George, in Bexley. ++
